Two Mountain Winery, Zillah, Washington
Two Mountain Winery's Copeland Vineyard was planted on old apple ground, property their family has farmed since 1951. Located in the Rattlesnake Hills area of the Yakima Valley, Washington State’s oldest appellation, Copeland Vineyard continues their family’s history by providing over 90% of the grapes they use to make their wines. The Cascade Mountain Range provides a wonderful rain-shadow effect on their vineyard, which is situated on a south-facing slope 1,198 feet above sea level. They have a very warm site, averaging 29 80-degree days with an ideal 190 day growing season and annual precipitation of only approximately six inches. Warm days and cool nights provide the Yakima Valley with near-perfect growing conditions, allowing the both white and red grape varietals to fully express their classic characteristics.
